Lakers Injury Report: Gabe Vincent Expected to Play Sunday Against Nets

It's been a whirlwind of a season for the Los Angeles Lakers. They have battled through different injuries and inconsistent play, yet have still found ways to remain competitive throughout.

Currently, the Lakers sit in 9th place within the Western Conference standings but are only two games back of moving themselves up. With a strong finish and some help from the teams above them, Los Angeles could make their move.

Their biggest weakness this season has been on the defensive end, which has been caused by them missing their two best wing defenders. Both Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent have missed significant chunks of the season, but reinforcements are on their way.

Vincent is expected to join the team on their current road trip and suit up for them on Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets. He has been out since December 20 and has only played in five games all season.

Getting Vincent back should vastly help the Lakers' point-of-attack defense. They have missed someone who can hound opposing guards on the perimeter, so Vincent should be able to provide them with the missing piece.

The team signed him over the offseason to provide defense and three-point shooting. But his injury issues have played a massive part in the struggles this season. However, getting him back right before the start of the playoffs could prove to be the needed boost Los Angeles needs.

Vincent has been a reliable role player throughout his career and he will give this team even more depth to work with. His coming back this weekend is huge, as it then gives the team time to acclimate him back into the rotation.

This is great news for the Lakers and hopefully, Vincent can play up to the level that the team expected when they signed him. All eyes will be on Vincent this weekend, if anything to see how he looks post-injury.
