Washington Wizards power forward Kyle Kuzma enjoyed a stellar stint as a key reserve for your Los Angeles Lakers during his first four NBA seasons, including winning the 2020 NBA championship.

The 6'9" big man was sadly offloaded to the Wizards in an incredibly regrettable trade for past-his-prime ex-All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook, a Long Beach native, during the summer of 2021.

Kuzma's mother, Karri, recently spoke with Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Bally Sports on his Scoop B Radio podcast about the most exciting encounter she had with Lakers personnel during her son's four years in LA.

"Jeanie Buss," she told Robinson. "Like, that’s always been pretty special. She still reaches out to me on my birthday and still tells me happy birthday and I really appreciate that. I met [former Houston Rockets All-Star big man] Ralph Sampson. I’ve had some really cool interactions with people online as well on Twitter like Flea... that was at the bubble. There’s probably like a ton of people and I can’t think right now but, every time I went to LA you’re meeting people."

The Lakers' majority owner is frequently cited as being an incredibly kind and likable sort when it comes to dealing with media members, so it's perhaps not too surprising that she extends that welcoming behavior to players' parents.
