Former Lakers center Dwight Howard seems as if he wants to return to the NBA next season. During an interview, the former All-Star spoke about possibly wanting to join the Sacramento Kings and help them compete for a title. Currently Howard is playing oversees in Taiwan.

A move to the Kings would be interesting for sure. First off, it would require Sacramento to be interested in the services of Howard. But if they could get the veteran for a minimum level contract, I don't see why now. Howard could provide some leadership and guidance for the young Sacramento team, as well as a big body that can play for 10-20 minutes a game.

Howard is also very familiar with the Lakers, specifically LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He was with the squad for two seasons, including the 2020 title winning team. Howard may be able to provide some extra scouting to the Kings for when they take on the Lakers, which may give some sort of advantage to Sacramento.

Overall, it's an intriguing option for the Kings to possible consider. But the most interesting part of all this is that Howard specifically mentioned the Kings for his NBA comeback. Would he not play for anyone else? Or is he just that interested in helping this team take that next step?

The Lakers likely pay this little to no attention as Howard wasn't overly effective the last time he stepped onto a NBA court. But whatever the motivations are from Howard, it'll be fun to watch play out.
