After spending a week on his own without the rest of your Los Angeles Lakers, injured All-Star LA small forward LeBron James rejoined the club to take in its game against the New York Knicks Sunday, a disappointing 112-108 home loss, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

The time apart supplied a solid opportunity "for him to unplug a little bit," Los Angeles head coach Darvin Ham reflected, per McMenamin. "Everything is going according to plan."

McMenamin adds that James is now out of the walking boot he has worn since aggravating his already-sore right tendon during the Lakers' epic 27-point comeback victory against the Dallas Mavericks two weeks ago.

That's great news, and suggests that perhaps The Chosen One can return around the shorter side of his projected long-term absence. James is set to have his foot reevaluated in a week, and at that point we'll hopefully have a clearer sense of his recovery timeline.

Although the Lakers have performed pretty well in his absence (4-3), the team would certainly benefit from having its leader and best player back in the fold. Across the 47 games he did play, the 19-time All-Star averaged 29.5 points on .501/.308/.759 shooting splits, 8.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 0.9 steals a night.
