LeBron James Weighs In On Lori Loughlin Serving Sentence At Prison Of Her Choice

Melissa Rohlin

LeBron James was perplexed that actress Lori Loughlin will get to serve her two-month sentence for her involvement in a college admissions fraud scandal at a prison of her choice.

"Of her what!!??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣," James wrote on Instagram on Friday. "I’m laughing cause sometimes you have to just to stop from crying! 🤦🏾‍♂️. Don’t make no damn sense to me. We just want the same treatment if committed of same crime that’s all. Is that asking for to much??? Let me guess, it is huh. Yeah I know!! We’ll just keep pushing forward and not expecting the handouts! STRONG, BLACK & POWERFUL! 🙏🏾✊🏾👑."

According to the Los Angeles Times, Loughlin's request to serve her time at a medium-security federal correctional institution in Victorville, California, was approved by a judge.

Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly paid $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters into USC as phony crew team recruits.

Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison; Giannulli was sentenced to five months.

James weighed in on what he deemed to be an example of white privilege and a double standard hours before the Lakers open their Western Conference Finals series against the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

James, the runner-up for the MVP award this season, is trying to lead the Lakers to their first championship since 2010, when Kobe Bryant won his fifth and final title with the team.

Lebron is right! This speaks to hypocrisy of our court system! Just more of their B.S.!

I'm not going to worry about who got what. I just think it's funny that this actress, who I had never heard of before this scandal, paid $500,000 to get her daughters in to.....USC??? LOL. It's not Stanford, that's for sure. So, she gets to pick which prison she spends her sentence at? What bugs me is that when men have to go to prison, it can mean having to join a gang just to keep from being raped or murdered. Women's prisons? Are women's prisons even prisons? Finally, I will say this: this is a very, very, very bad time to have to go to any prison, for anything. With COVID-19 going around, and a President who doesn't care about jails, or anyone other than himself, this is the worst time for anyone to be in prison.

This story is not about LeBron. The fact that he would or does benefit from injustice, as do others of means or due to race is a disgrace and should be challenged. And Sandra Hall, the fact that you earned an "average" salary is far greater than what the people you were serving survived on with the "free handouts." Further, does the fact that 90% of the people you worked with look like LeBron mean nothing to you? Does that not reflect who out there is seeking help? With the level of wealth America possesses, it is astonishing how disregarding we can be to each other. We all need to do better.

Again, who gives a f**k what Lebron thinks.

This story is not about LeBron. Maybe he would or does get preferential treatment, but that is the point; wealth or race should not be a factor, but they plainly are. That reality is a disgrace and should be challenged...and to Sandra Hall, the fact that you earned an "average" salary is far above what the people you served have. Further, the fact that 90% of your "customers" looked like LeBron does that not tell you something?

Oh puh-leeze, like he can talk?! Like he wouldn't get the EXACT SAME preferential treatment due to his fame! He already expects it all over the basketball court... He throws a tantrum because he didnt get the number of MVP votes he expected and then wants to talk entitlement?!
What a clueless joke he has become.

The story and its surrounding controversy need a fact check. For persons sentenced to federal imprisonments, it is the federal Bureau of Prisons that decides where—at which facility—the sentence will be served. Federal judges often honor a defendant’s request that the court recommend to the BOP that it select a particular facility, but the BOP is free to deviate from a judicial recommendation. Also, the BOP’s formula for making the “which prison” decision placed some emphasis on keeping a defendant close to home, subject to other considerations. So the fact that this actress asked for and received a judicial recommendation that she serve her sentence at a particular facility is unremarkable. And assuming the actress resides in California, the fact that she’ll serve her sentence there is not surprising.

Lebron, I retired from Dept. Of Children and Families in Palm Beach Co., FL. I authorized Medicaid, cash assistance, determined monthly Food Stamp eligibility, Day Care for people who did not even work, sourced free or subsidized housing w/all utilities paid, and vouchered free cellphones for clients while i lived on an average salary. NOT what you make. 90% of 'free handouts' looked like you.

Absolutely ridiculous considering:

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Played Games With An Ankle Monitor

Caldwell-Pope served his time at the Seal Beach Police Department Detention Center in Southern California.

‘This is like paradise’: Seal Beach’s pay-to-stay program actively markets its jail, attracting deep-pocketed offenders

Judges frequently grant permission for defendants to go to jails close to their home. This doesn't mean that the Bureau of Prisons will follow the advice, however. Where Lori Loughlin spends her time in jail is a decision made by the Bureau of Prisons; not by the judge.

Again it is about the money and plea bargain! It has nothing to do with race!! Lebron you need to go back to school and learn the difference!!!

This is why federal judges should be elected and held accountable for their misconduct.

That is not to say race and the issues involving race today do not exist. But I'm a 30 year old middle class white man, do you think if I was involved in a homicide like Ray Lewis, I would have gotten a slap on the wrist and a smile from the judge?
Or take Kobe and his rape, I GUARANTEE YOU if that were myself or any other lowly white OR black man, our ass's would have gotten fucking TOASTED and lived the rest of our days out in prison.
Or Michael Vick, I PERSONALLY know several white men who did longer jail sentences than him for the same crime. Or to go further, me on of every race for that matter doing MUCH more time than he for much LESSER crimes or offenses.
Professional athletes of every race, along with any other celebrities or people of wealth will ALWAYS get preferential or favorable treatment. The UNDENIABLE FACT in life is that it doesn't matter what your race! If you have money then you can get away with murder!
And in many cases, wealthy people DO get away with murder or many other serious crimes! While a person, regardless of race, can be completely innocent of any wrongdoings at all whatsoever and spend decades in prison due to the fact they just didnt have enough money to get him out of it!

Make no mistake LeBron, this has nothing to do with fucking color. In fact, the problem here is a club that YOU yourself belongs to! This is what being rich and famous will get you.
