With your Los Angeles Lakers officially eliminated from playoff contention on Monday, the team is now pivoting to its 2023-24 season.

To wit, the Lakers front office is already looking towards next month's draft. The team, which has the 17th and 47th picks this year, will work out six prospects Friday, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

Friday's potential future Lakers include G League Ignite swingman Leonard Miller, Kentucky forward Chris Livingston, Virginia point guard Kihei Clark, Pepperdine forward Maxwell Lewis, Baylor guard Adam Flagler and Dayton forward DaRon Holmes II.

Among these players, Miller could be the top prospect. A 6'10" small forward with a 7'2" wingspan, averaged 18 points on .556/.327/.792 shooting splits, 11 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks a night across 24 regular season bouts (19 starts) with the Ignite in 2022-23.

ESPN draft expert Jonathan Givony praises the lengthy wing as an excellent decision maker and reliable defender at the NBAGL level.

Should the Lakers draft based on need (point guard or center depth, playmaking, shooting) or should the club prioritize the best player on the board?

Team president Rob Pelinka has landed on some terrific finds late in -- and even after -- recent drafts. It will be interesting to see how he uses this year's picks.
