Michael Malone is apparently still quite annoyed with your Los Angeles Lakers.

Days removed from vanquishing LA, the Denver Nuggets' head coach remains haunted by what he perceives as an unfair media coverage favoritism towards, by far, the most popular team in the NBA. And it's not his Nuggets.

“You win Game 1 of the [Western Conference Finals], and all everybody talked about was the Lakers," Malone famously kvetched following the club's Game 2 win. "Let's be honest, that was the national narrative, was, 'Hey the Lakers are fine. They're down 1-0 but they've figured something out.' No one talked about Nikola just had a historic performance."

More recently, Malone remarked once again about national reporters' infatuation with the Lake Show. Which, to be fair, could have something to do with the fact that LeBron James, in a total thunder-stealing move, threatened to retire during his postgame remarks following Game 4.

"If anyone is still talking about the Lakers, that’s on them," Malone said, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. "They’ve gone fishing. We’re still playing."

The Nuggets have gone 12-3 thus far in the postseason, and are sitting pretty as they await the winner of the ongoing Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. Game 6 of the series, which Miami leads 3-2, tips off right now on TN.
