Is it concerning to anyone else that KP doesnt seem to have a go to move? I guess I'm so used to seeing Dirk operate on that elbow, Lukas step back, Jets pull up jumper and even DSJ hesi move. I wonder if NY never actually tried to help him develop a go to move? I wonder if Carlise will or he'll just kinda float around like another guy.
Yes, he definitely would benefit from developing a reliable go-to move or two. Its a real shortcoming not to have one although at 7'3" just taking a jumper or set shot is very difficult for most defenders to bother.
In the post though, a go-to move high % shooting and that lack is the main reason he's not yet a very good post player. Its amazing to how few NBA big men today have a go-to move at all.
KP needs to post up low, call for the ball, and just wear some people out with a sky hook, baby hook or spin move. All this jacking up 3's early in the shot clock and settling for mid-range jumpers ain't cuttin' it. And his attempts to drive the bucket remind me of Shawn Bradley. Coach Carlisle needs to have a chat with him; probably has, but no results yet. Shaq and Barkley, and later Reggie Miller, called him out on this last night, as did Justin Termine on Sirius NBA Ch. 86. This is holding the Mavs back from more wins.
