New section, labeled DBcom Boards

Guys, we are hoping that this new section, labeled DBcom Boards, provides an easier time for you all in terms of a 'board' type community.

I also highly recommend downloading the Maven app. ➡️ Maven - News & Community by Maven Coalition, Inc. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/maven-news-community/id1254283617

There are going to be growing pains through all of this, so we appreciate your patience.

Definitely a step in the right direction for clarity!

Will definitely give it a shot. I like the threaded comments better

I can handle all of the short-comings, but the whole "pop to the bottom of the thread while I'm reading the middle of the thread and drinking my coffee during my me-time" is not my favorite feature. And by that, I mean I hate it.

One site is active and getting praise from most of the community...

The other has very little activity and a lot of complaints...

There are 3 guys who've come here to troll. Not falling for it. WiLLE, I care so much about the 'us vs. them' stuff - and about the community that we all built at DBcom - that I'm reaching out to 40 to 50 people, individually, to exchange ideas. W, give me a good email and I'll do the same with you. thanks Fish

Fish, that kind of site here is bullshit from a community pov. Why dont you insert a real board and link articles - like the old board? This is such a step backwards. I really hate this Layout. Whats the reason to drastically change the established format?

I have been reading/posting at db.com (when I can access my account!) for most of my adult life spanning multiple formats. I am not going to jump ship for temporary issues. That said, I used to spend more than an hour a day easy on the site... now, not so much after reading the articles. Part of that is offseason, but there is not much community content here right now (meaning message boards). Always hopeful that it will get fixed. This current board is better than before. So, there's that.

Ok guys we have heard back from the developers and we have good news. Things are still in flux with the integration of Maven/SI etc. but they told us that they are planning on updating the way things are laid out on the community side. It is just going to take time. They didn’t give us an exact date. But it is happening.

It's interesting to me that posting a comment doesn't immediately refresh the thread even tho it should. You have to manually refresh which isn't terrible but seems like an unnecessary extra step

Sorry, guys, just found the new forum that Magikian did...that's fine for me. I can't follow this stuff and you can actually bold, italicize, drop gifs, video and all the stuff we've been asking for the last 800000 years.

Sorry, man. When a dude can just throw that up in his spare time, how in the world could they not just do that for the last several years? Dont' answer, I know with nice things come rules and it's not that easy, but I'm solid on that...just post a link to over there.

How do you find the latest posts? I'm having a hard time understanding and negotiating my way around. Is there different forums like the old site, like Around the NBA, and the game thread site?

We'll have game threads when the regular season roles around. If you hit the three bars format, and sort by oldest, the latest comments appear at the bottom of the thread.

Here is a good thread to help get you settled in.
