Mavs Talk: ‘Luka And KP Are Invested’, Says Carlisle After Mavs Cruise to Fourth Straight Win - And Now to Milwaukee

Kristaps Porzingis made his return on Wednesday night, scoring 16 points in the Dallas Mavericks’ 104-93 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

Luka Doncic put on an all-around performance, scoring 34 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists, positioning him as an MVP contender once again.

The Mavericks, who were missing some key starters on Wednesday night (Josh Richardson and Maxi Kleber among them), hope to expand their healthy roster in the coming days.

Now let's hear Mavs talk:

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle on Doncic’s performance:

"Luka was spectacular the whole game. He had great poise, he had great leadership… He's one of our best defenders at the end of the game.”

Carlisle on his two stars’ defensive tone:

“When Luka and KP are invested on defense, everybody falls in line."

Porzingis on his return:

"It's always a good feeling when you actually get there and get those minutes on the court… I enjoy winning, I enjoy competing. It's good to be back out there with my guys… All I need now is just that time on the floor. I have the confidence because I've been putting in the work.”

Doncic on Porzingis' return:

"I think for the first game, he played amazing. He's going to keep improving and we're going to need him a lot."

Doncic on what it will take to win the championship:

"The way you win championships is to play defense."
