Mark Cuban EXCLUSIVE: Dallas Mavs Owner Responds to NFL Washington Commanders Rumor

Mavs boss Mark Cuban visits exclusively with DBcom about an NFL rumor.

DALLAS - The Washington Commanders are up for sale, with embattled owner Dan Snyder reporting $6 billion for the NFL franchise.

Along with that comes an errant report from FOX Business that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is “eyeing the team” - and in an exclusive visit with DallasBasketball.com, Cuban is clearing the air.

The story, in short, is false; Cuban is not involved in a pursuit of the Commanders.

And why not?

“I love basketball,” Cuban tells us. “Period. End of story.”

The FOX report also suggests that it is “said (that Cuban is) close to owner Dan Snyder.” If that is true, that marks a recent development, because as of three years ago, Cuban commented publicly on the alleged scandals that are in part responsible for Snyder’s NFL exit.

In noting the 2018 scandal in which his Mavericks had allegations brought on them relating to sexual harassment and domestic violence in the workplace, Cuban said that as a result of the controversy he learned how to be a better boss.

"If you know Dan Snyder, if you're involved with the (Washington team), if you connect to them, tell Dan and tell his senior management you've got to just recognize what you did right and what you did wrong," Cuban said. "You have to accept the mistakes you made. That's painful. I made a lot of mistakes. And that's the only way this is going to get resolved."

“Resolved”? Cuban has that connection with the Commanders. But “involved”? Nope. There’s nothing there.
