DALLAS - The NBA got him.
Too little. Too late.
The has NBA fined Los Angeles Clippers Marcus Morris $35,000 for "recklessly striking" Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic in Game 6 of their first-round playoff series. The league has apparently ruled that the illegal contact does not warrant a suspension.
On the play in question, Morris swatted at Doncic' head as Luka was attempting to drive to the basket. The officials ruled the foul was a Flagrant 2 and ejected Morris from the game.
Morris was involved in four such questionable plays throughout the series, but was only truly punished - if one can call a $35K fine without suspension "punishment'' - once .. And now the Clippers, 4-2 winners in Round 1, move on.
Their roster is intact. Fortunately, Doncic's head and body are as well.
