Knicks' fans going to MSG won't have to look far for a friendly reminder of what could have been this offseason. New Jersey native and Brooklyn Nets floor general Kyrie Irving is the focal point of a billboard located at the corner of the World's Most Famous Arena.

As if his mere image isn't trollish enough, the message on the billboard reads: "IN MY HEART I KNEW I ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY AT HOME."

Many notable Knicks' fans were certain that they were going to sign both Irving and Kevin Durant this offseason and elevate the franchise out a more than two decade-long funk its been in since its last NBA Finals appearance in the lockout shortened 1999 season.

The Knicks coveted  Durant throughout the free agency process, and while many felt Irving wouldn't have enough of an impact if he came to New York alone, the first seven games of the season have shown that the point guard can play at a MVP-caliber level.

The Nets have somewhat underachieved so far this year at 3-4, but Irving has been dazzling and trails only James Harden for the scoring title. As Brooklyn looks to get its house in order and develop the camaraderie and chemistry of its group until Durant returns from injury, it leaves Knicks fans wondering what could have been as they gaze at the constant reminder in the form of the Irving billboard outside MSG.
