The Suns are considering trading their All-Star big man for the second year in a row, this time with Stoudemire closer to free agency (he has a $17.7 million player option for next season). The Cavaliers were said to be the front-runners to land Stoudemire a few days before the Feb. 18 trade deadline.

The NBA's highest-paid player essentially parted ways with the Rockets in late December after playing limited minutes in a six-game stint in his return from microfracture knee surgery. The Rockets could keep McGrady on ice for the rest of the season or attempt to turn his $22.5 million expiring contract into immediate help in their push to make the playoffs. The Knicks have been mentioned as a possible trade partner.

The struggling 76ers are open for business, and that includes exploring trades for their best player. Any team interested, however, must be willing to take on the four years and $56 million remaining on his contract after the season.

The fourth-year forward's season has included so-so production and a suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. Thomas has relinquished his starting job this season, and he's been frustrated over playing time. The Bulls reportedly are seeking a first-round pick and an expiring contract for the talented Thomas, who has yet to fulfill his potential. Minnesota is believed to be interested.

The Celtics hit the All-Star break on a 9-13 skid, and any plans for a midseason jolt could involve dealing Allen. He isn't having a good year by his standards and he has an $18.7 million expiring contract. The Celtics are seeking a young star in return.

His name comes up regularly in trade rumors, most notably in scenarios involving Amar'e Stoudemire. The second-year forward is averaging better than 15 points and six rebounds in his first year as a starter.

After a promising rookie season, Augustin has seen coach Larry Brown cut his minutes by eight per game this year. Celtics president Danny Ainge denied that he discussed an Augustin-for-Glen-Davis trade with the Bobcats. Charlotte could also peddle Flip Murray at the deadline.

The Celtics and Lakers have been linked to Hinrich, an expensive third guard who has struggled offensively but is capable of providing stout defense on the perimeter. Hinrich has two more years and $17 million left on his contract -- a big investment for a player who is shooting 38 percent from the field.

The Knicks are willing to part with their second-leading scorer, who is unlikely to re-sign as a free agent this summer. A Harrington-for-Tyrus-Thomas rumor started in December and resurfaced around the All-Star break.

The Wizards already made one big move -- they traded Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas -- and they may not be done. Jamison-to-Cleveland speculation began at last year's trade deadline and could reignite depending on what happens with Cleveland's other options.

Pistons president Joe Dumars isn't one to sit on his hands, so if he decides to be active at the deadline, Prince's name will be in the mix. Detroit, however, might prefer to unload Richard Hamilton and his onerous contract.

Murphy could be a fallback option for the Cavs if they don't get Amar'e Stoudemire or Antawn Jamison. Murphy, a solid rebounder and one of the league's best big-man perimeter shooters, makes $11 million this season and $12 million next season in the last year of his deal.

Dalembert has long been rumored as a trade candidate, but his huge contract all but negated that possibility in previous years. He could be more in play now because he has only one more year (at nearly $13 million) on his deal. Dalembert has been the Sixers' starting center since 2003-04.

Though the Martin-Tyreke Evans backcourt pairing hasn't yielded good results, the Kings probably would need to be blown away to trade the 27-year-old Martin, who is on track for his fourth consecutive 20-point season.

The Jazz's recent surge catapulted them to third in the West and likely lessened the chance of a Boozer trade. But if Utah keeps Boozer, it runs the risk of losing him without compensation as a free agent this summer.

Rival teams reportedly have inquired about the availability of Harris, who is having a down year during the Nets' miserable season. But New Jersey president Rod Thorn said last month a Harris trade is "very, very unlikely."

Ilgauskas' $11.5 million expiring contract makes him prime bait if the Cavs decide to make a splash before the deadline (he's been rumored as part of a potential Amar'e Stoudemire trade). On top of that, it's possible that Ilgauskas could still rejoin the Cavs for the playoffs if he negotiates a buyout with his new team and then sits out the required 30 days before re-signing with Cleveland.

The three-time slam dunk champion spent all of December in Mike D'Antoni's doghouse but has since re-emerged as a scorer off the bench (he had a 41-point game against Miami and recently went for 27 at Cleveland). The impending free agent probably doesn't figure in the Knicks' long-term plans, but a trade won't be easy because Robinson has the right to veto any deal.
