Pistons Acquire Jalen Duren

In a shocking move, the Pistons worked a trade with Charlotte and New York and snagged Jalen Duren on draft night.

Troy Weaver is a genius.

In a massive shake up, Weaver and the Pistons pulled off a trade that involved the New York Knicks and the Charlotte Hornets and will land Jalen Duren out of Memphis.

Per sources, the Pistons acquired Duren and Kemba Walker from the New York Knicks and are sending Milwaukee's 2025 1st-round pick, which they acquired from Portland yesterday, to Charlotte.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski, Walker and the Pistons are expected to discuss a contract buyout that will allow him to become a free agent. Walker landed with Detroit as a part of three-way trade with Charlotte and New York, that was really about Duren, who Weaver has been high on for a long time.

In other words, the Pistons absolutely stole Jaden Ivey at No. 5, and even more egregiously, stole Duren by giving up only what will likely be a late-first round pick via Milwaukee in the 2025 draft.

Wow.
