Block of the year?

This is one way to help cover up for a teammate's turnover. With roughly 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter on Wednesday night at Staples Center, Clippers guard Jamal Crawford lost control of his dribble, leading to a runout in transition for Heat guard Dwyane Wade.

Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe hustled back down the floor, soaring high to cleanly block a dunk attempt by Wade at its apex. Bledsoe, 6-foot-1, blocked Wade, 6-foot-4, above the rim cleanly with just his right hand. The force of the block carried him to the ground but he was not whistled for a foul on the play. The block kept the score tied at 29 after the Heat's ensuing possession ended with a missed three-pointer by guard Norris Cole.

Bledsoe, 22, is in his third season with the Clippers after going one-and-done at Kentucky. Entering Wednesday, he was averaging a career-high 10.4 points, 2.9 assists, 2.4 rebounds.
