Video: Knicks' Tyson Chandler suffers bruised left knee against Nuggets
By Ben Golliver
Chandler departed the game immediately following a collision with Nuggets forward Corey Brewer and had to be helped to the locker room by his teammates. Brewer and Chandler appeared to bump knees after Brewer slid into Chandler's blind side as he worked to deny an entry pass into the post. Chandler finished with four points (on two-for-four shooting) and two rebounds in 18 minutes.
The New York Times reported that Chandler is "probable" for the Knicks' Thursday game at Portland. The New York Daily News reported that Chandler was "walking with a noticeable limp" but not using crutches after the game. Chandler did not undergo an MRI on the knee and the team announced that there were no immediate plans for further testing.
Chandler is one of three key Knicks players currently battling knee injuries. All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony announced after Wednesday's loss that he will return to New York to receive treatment on his ailing right knee. Last weekend, the Knicks announced that forward Amar'e Stoudemire needed to undergo a debridement on his right knee that is expected to sideline him six weeks.suffered a knee contusion during the preseason Nets Gerald Wallace
