It was no Dwayne Wade, no problem for the Heat Sunday night, as Miami cruised to its 26th straight win without Wade, who missed the game with right knee soreness. Wade didn't play, but he did contribute to the team last night. Following the 109-77 victory over the Bobcats, Wade, wearing an all-white suit, spoke with LeBron James about how the Heat overcame the adversity of playing without ... Dwyane Wade.
"What does it say about this team when you have a superstar out and guys just come and step up," Wade asks James, who finished the game with 32 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.
"When you have a superstar like 'WOW' [Way of Wade, the nickname Wade gave himself] out, everyone has to pick it up, " James responds while Wade tries to fight back a grin. "Anytime we got a superstar, big-time superstar, Hall-of-Fame guy out, guys got to step up."
Wade has been playing well during the Heat's 26-game winning streak, as Rob Mahoney noted last Monday. He's played in 25 of 26 games, averaging 22.8 points, 5.8 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals on 53.6 percent shooting. And now we can add an ego-stroking postgame interview to that impressive résumé.
