Video: Thunder's Hasheem Thabeet makes obscene gesture to fans

Saturday April 13th, 2013

Thunder center Hasheem Thabeet made an obscene gesture toward fans seated in the baseline seats at the Rose Garden in Portland on Friday night.

The 7-foot-3 center was slow getting up after a fall to the court prior to a break in play with four minutes remaining in the third quarter and the Thunder leading 70-59. Before returning to Oklahoma City's bench, he paused for a moment to make a suggestive motion to fans that even brought a chuckle from the television crew.

"I just fell, I wasn't talking to the crowd," Thabeet said after the game.

When asked a second time if he had an exchange with fans, Thabeet said: "Who? No, not at all. I just told you."

Denial or not, it's difficult to see how this one would get past the disciplinarians in the NBA league office.

Kevin Durant was fined $25,000 for making a "throat slit" gesture after a dunk against the Warriors in Oakland on Thursday.
