Reports: Cavaliers agree to sign Jarrett Jack to four-year deal
Free-agent point guard Jarrett Jack agreed to a four-year, $25 million contract with the Cavaliers, according to The San Jose Mercury News and ESPN.com. The deal includes a team option on the final season.
Jack, 29, averaged 12.9 points, 5.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds last season as a key piece on a Warriors team that advanced to the Western Conference semifinals. A strong, experienced guard adept at both scoring and distributing, Jack joins a Cavaliers backcourt that includes All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving and rising sophomore Dion Waiters, a 2012 lottery pick. Jack is widely regarded as a good locker-room leader, and he is capable of playing on or off the ball and in either a starting or reserve role.
"Well, it was fun while it lasted," Jack tweeted Friday.
Free agents can officially sign contracts beginning Wednesday.GRADE: A-
