Knicks rookie guard Tim Hardaway Jr. hit a game-winning jumper to beat the Celtics 103-102 in a preseason game on Wednesday.

Down one with 10 seconds to play, Hardaway Jr. came open in the left corner, catching an inbounds pass and setting his feet to stroke a long two with 8.2 seconds remaining. The basket would provide the winning margin, as the Knicks got a stand on the other end.

Hardaway Jr. finished with 16 points (on 6-for-10 shooting) and three rebounds in 25 minutes. The No. 24 pick in June's draft out of Michigan, Hardaway Jr., 21, is the son of former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway, who was on hand to watch the exhibition game in Providence, R.I.

Iman Shumpert led the Knicks with 18 points; MarShon Brooks paced the Celtics with 13 points in a losing effort.

With the win, New York moved to 1-0 on the preseason. Boston fell to 0-2 with the loss.
