Video: Pacers' Paul George dunks over Heat's LeBron James
This pure, end-to-end highlight stood out from the crowd during a low-scoring, physical game that saw an ejection, a flagrant foul and multiple technicals.
With a little less than 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Miami leading 70-67, George pushed the ball up the court in hopes of catching the Heat's defense napping. James picked up George as he approached the three-point arc, but Indiana's All-Star forward used a between-the-legs, right-to-left crossover to create a driving lane. Ian Mahinmi sealed Chris "Birdman" Andersen in the paint, preventing any help defense, and George attacked the basket hard with James in hot pursuit.
Rising off of two feet, George jumped with the intention of throwing down a two-handed dunk, while also seemingly preparing himself for possible contact. Rather than deliver a hard foul, James attempted to block the shot from behind, only to have George finish the slam over the top of him.
George led the Pacers with a team-high 23 points (on 8-for-19 shooting), eight rebounds and four assists. Roy Hibbert added 21 points (on 7-for-15 shooting) and four rebounds in the win.
James led all scorers with 38 points (on 11-for-19 shooting), eight rebounds and five assists in a losing effort. Dwyane Wade tallied 15 points (on 6-for-11 shooting), four rebounds and one assist for the Heat.
