Chris Paul Poses Suns' Biggest Question Heading Into 2022-23

Phoenix Suns PG Chris Paul holds the keys to success this season.

After another year with an empty trophy display, plenty of questions surround the Phoenix Suns heading into the 2022-23 season starting from the top.

How will the team move past the negative impact Robert Sarver left throughout the entire organization?

We all know Monty Williams is a great coach, but will he make the proper adjustments when the time comes?

Devin Booker has ascended to superstar status, but can he elevate his game even further?

Can Cameron Johnson step into starting role seamlessly? Will Deandre Ayton even be on the team past the trade deadline?

The Suns, under a magnifying glass since their elevation to status of being one of the top teams in the league, pose plenty of questions that will need answered in order for Phoenix to capture their first NBA Finals title.

However, in The Athletic's article (diving into each team's biggest question) Chris Paul and his availability to play down the stretch was discussed.

"Can Chris Paul hold up all season? It might seem silly to question Paul’s production — he’s been so good since arriving in Phoenix — but he is getting older, and he has had health issues in the playoffs. Paul turns 38 in May, and although age hasn’t slowed him much — he’s been superhuman in this regard — eventually it will take hold. Paul has played 70 and 65 games the past two seasons in Phoenix. It might be time to reduce his load just so he can be strongest during the postseason. — Doug Haller"

The Suns feel fairly confident in their ability to supplement Paul's play with guys such as Landry Shamet, Cameron Payne and Damion Lee.

During the regular season, things should be fine. The Suns are set to cruise to another great year prior to the playoffs, but the real answer to this question will be found come postseason time.
