Devin Booker's Latest Tweet Suggests He's Close to Returning
The Phoenix Suns have been without Devin Booker since Christmas Day (and the three games prior before he tried to return vs. Denver) after injuring his groin. Booker was one of four starters to have missed some time this season, and as a result their position in the Western Conference standings has dropped.
Yet the Suns have slowly pieced themselves back together. Cam Johnson returned from his meniscus tear, Deandre Ayton has regained full health and Chris Paul is again commanding the team on the floor.
As a result, the Suns are winners of their previous six-of-seven games, and Booker could be the final infinity stone in the gauntlet of coach Monty Williams.
The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin suggested Booker would be back "soon", and Booker's latest tweet suggests that's the case.
Booker's multiple 50+ point games this season has showed just how tremendous he could be, though his streak of consecutive All-Star appearances may come to a stop after he's missed significant time due to his groin injury.
We're nearly at the Feb. 9 trade deadline, and the Suns hope they can get some sort of help to Phoenix's roster. There's hope that whatever package that comes in return for Jae Crowder - mixed with Booker's return - can set Phoenix straight on their path to another deep playoff push.
The Suns wrap up a short homestand tonight vs. Atlanta before going on a five-game road trip.
