Odds Released for Suns' Next Head Coach: Who is the Favorite?

Who is the frontrunner to land the Phoenix Suns’ head coaching job?
According to Sportsline.com, Nick Nurse is the favorite to land the job at even odds as Kevin Young trails just a little bit behind at +200.
“If the Suns want Nurse, who led Toronto to the NBA title in 2019, they'd better act fast, as the Milwaukee Bucks also are looking at him for their opening,” SportsLine's Matt Severance wrote.
“Overall, Nurse went 277-163 in five seasons with Toronto and was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2019. Nurse had the best winning percentage in team history (.582), made three playoff appearances, won two Atlantic Division titles, an Eastern Conference title and that NBA title. He is known to grind heavy minutes out of his players, much like the Knicks' Tom Thibodeau.”
Nurse is a championship winning coach so he will indeed be a hot commodity in the coaching market. However out of all the teams remaining trying to find a new head coach the Suns are arguably the most enticing team with players like Kevin Durant and Devin Booker on the roster. If Phoenix is to offer Nurse a contract, it should be a no brainer for him.
Young has an advantage over all the other coaching candidates since he has been with the Suns organization since 2020.
“He has been an assistant coach for seven seasons, including the last four with Williams in the valley,” Insiders Betting Digest wrote.
“He had three years under his belt with the 76ers prior to that as well, so has been around plenty of stars during his time. It is always hard to make the jump to a first-time head coach, but he clearly knows the team philosophies and all that.”
Sports Line also has Doc Rivers at +500 odds and Sacramento Kings assistant coach Jordi Fernandez at +1000. Frank Vogel is not listed by Sports Line but is one of the five coaches Phoenix will be considering for the position.
