NBA Executive Slams Jordan Poole Amidst Disastrous Lakers Series

One NBA executive believes the Warriors overpaid for Jordan Poole

Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole is amidst a disastrous playoff run, and an even worse Western Conference Semi-Finals series vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. Averaging 10.5 PPG this postseason on 34.2% from the field, Poole is averaging just 8.0 PPG against the Lakers, and has seen his playing time diminish as a result of his poor play.

Speaking with Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, one Eastern Conference executive slammed Poole, along with the Warriors for overpaying him.

"[Jordan Poole is] empty calories," the Eastern Conference executive told Pincus.

"He doesn't defend, doesn't really create for others and that Draymond [Green] incident wasn't a great look for either of them," another executive told Pincus. "The intel on Poole [and his presence in the locker room] isn't great."

On the Warriors extending Poole this past offseason, the executive told Pincus, "I don't know why the Warriors rushed to overpay him. They could have given him the same money this summer. At least then, they'd know what his contract would mean to their situation. He's earning more than [Andrew] Wiggins, and Wiggins is way more valuable than Poole."

Needless to say, the Poole extension is not looking good for the Warriors right now. As they sit on the brink of elimination, the young guard has been borderline unplayable on both ends.
