Old Video Reveals Dillon Brooks Idolized Draymond Green

Dillon Brooks may hate Draymond Green now, but he didn't used to.

Dillon Brooks may hate Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors now, but he didn't use to. There was once a time when Brooks wanted to be just like Green. In fact, there is video evidence of it.

In a 2016 college interview, Brooks revealed his thoughts about Draymond Green.

"At the beginning of the year, I was sitting at [Oregon coach Dana Altman's] house, telling him I want to be like Draymond Green for this team," Brooks told reporters in 2016. "I would never think that I would be in this position now with everybody here. It's great, I can't take it for granted, I gotta keep going. My team knows that, I know that."

Just because Brooks was once a fan of Draymond Green, doesn't mean that the two can't hate each other now. People have gone from loving to hating each other in everyday life all the time. What Brooks' statements do add though, is just another layer to one of the best rivalries in the NBA.

No personal rivalry in the NBA has more fireworks between two players than Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks. From on-court antics to epic podcast rants, these two have such an entertaining dynamic between each other. The only thing this rivalry needs is more stakes on the line, like when the Warriors would face off against the Rockets in the conference finals.
