Washington Wizards Awful Fourth Quarter Leads to 15th Straight Loss

The Washington Wizards couldn't pull out a victory against the Utah Jazz Monday night extending their losing streak to 15 games.

The Washington Wizards (9-52) got off to a hot start and had a lead for over 30 minutes.

After the Wizards went up by 14 points in the second quarter the Utah Jazz responded with a 17-point run themselves in what was back-and-forth affair for most of the night.

Washington guard Jordan Poole had another great night coming off the bench and ended with 32 points, but it still wasn't enough.

With a 110-105 lead with 7:44 left in the fourth quarter the Wizards looked like they were on the verge of getting a win for the first time in an entire calendar month.

But another fourth quarter collapse was waiting in the wings as the Jazz would outscore Washington 22-5 from then on out.

Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (2) takes a shot around Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (13) during the second half at the Delta Center.

The Wizards shot 20 percent from the field and only scored 14 total points in the final quarter including going 0-for-7 from three-point range.

A 127-115 loss in a very winnable game is tough to swallow and now Washington is on the verge of tying a franchise worst 16-game losing streak.

With the Wizards heading back home they will be desperate to avoid being on the wrong side of history again this season as they take on the Orlando Magic.

It will take a full 48 minutes from Washington to beat the Magic who they have already lost to three times this season.
