The Chicago Bears have fined and suspended tight end Martellus Bennett indefinitely for "conduct detrimental to team" after Monday's training camp fight with rookie Kyle Fuller, the team announced Tuesday.

During practice, Fuller tried to strip the ball from Bennett's arms during a play but instead grabbed his shoulder pads, knocking the tight end to the ground. Bennett got up and slammed the rookie cornerback into the ground. The two had to be separated by teammates.

Bears head coach Marc Trestman ended practice 10 minutes early after the incident.

On Monday, Bennett gave his thoughts on the incident, via ESPN.com:

"I come to training camp for one reason and that's to prepare to win a championship. I play hard and go hard every single day. I'm probably one of the most violent people on the field. That's just my style of play. I'm going to continue to play the same way I always play. That's what I'm here for.

"It's practice. Practice is practice. I know I sound like Allen Iverson right now, but it's practice. [Expletive] happens at practice. You learn from it. That's why it's practice."

Last season, Bennett had 65 catches for 759 yards and five touchdowns.
