The Monday Night Football game between Washington and the Cleveland Browns was the second-highest rated preseason game ever on ESPN, the network announced.

The broadcast drew a 4.8 overnight rating, just below the 5.5 rating a Minnesota Vikings-Houston Texans game drew in 2009 with Brett Favre playing.

Washington won the game 24-23, but Cleveland rookie Johnny Manziel stole the headlines for flipping off the Washington bench. In another notable gesture, Washington's defensive backs raised their hands in solidarity with Ferguson protestors during introductions.

It was a rough night for Cleveland quarterbacks, as Manziel and Brian Hoyer completed just nine of 22 pass attempts.

Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III bruised his thigh during the game, but said it's a minor injury.
