Retailer: Johnny Manziel's jersey top seller, bests next 3 QBs combined

Friday September 5th, 2014

Dick's Sporting Goods sold more Cleveland Browns Johnny Manziel jerseys than it did the next three quarterbacks combined, the retailer announced Friday.

Manziel had the top-selling jersey at Dick's and sold more jerseys than quarterbacks Andrew Luck (No. 2 overall), Peyton Manning (No. 3) and Robert Griffin III (No. 5) put together.

Browns OC Shanahan says Manziel worth first-round pick

The Browns drafted the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner with the No. 22 pick in the 2014 draft out of Texas A&M. He lost the quarterback battle to Brian Hoyer and will open the season as Cleveland's backup quarterback.

Manziel also had the top-selling jersey in the NFL during the first quarter of the league's fiscal year.

The Browns open the regular season on Sunday when they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers.
