Browns sign TE Gerell Robinson

CLEVELAND (AP) Jordan Cameron's sore right shoulder had the Browns shopping for a tight end.

Cleveland tried out several tight ends Tuesday before signing Gerell Robinson off Denver's practice squad. Cameron, a Pro Bowler last season, re-injured his shoulder while making a 47-yard catch in the first quarter of Sunday's season-opening loss at Pittsburgh.

The team did not provide an injury update on Cameron, who missed time during training camp and the exhibition season after hurting the AC joint in his shoulder. Already without star wide receiver Josh Gordon, the Browns need Cameron, who had a breakout season last year with 80 catches for 917 yards and seven touchdowns.

Browns coach Mike Pettine is expected to address Cameron's injury and running back Ben Tate's knee before Wednesday's practice.

But the signing of the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Robinson could indicate Cameron will miss more time. He signed as an undrafted free agent from Arizona State in 2012. He spent part of that season on the Broncos' practice squad and all of 2013. In college, he caught 135 passes for 2,071 yards and 12 touchdowns in 47 games.

The Browns also signed wide receiver Ifeanyi Momah (if-AH-nee MOE-ma) to the practice squad.

Also, suspended wide receiver Marlon Moore has been added to Cleveland's active roster. To make room, the team waived offensive lineman Ryan Seymour and terminated the contract of defensive back Aaron Berry. Linebacker Justin Staples The Browns was released from the practice squad.
