Patriots LB Jamie Collins fined for fair catch hit on Bengals' Brandon Tate

New England Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins was fined $8,268 by the NFL for hitting Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Brandon Tate after Tate signaled for a fair catch, according to ESPN

The play occurred during a punt return in the second quarter of last Sunday's game. Tate waved his arm to signal but did not appear to put his hand at the required full length above his head, as NFL rules stipulate.

The Patriots won the game, 43-17. 

Collins, 24, is in his second season in the NFL and with New England. He has 22 tackles and a fumble recovery in four games this season. 

The Patriots are 3-2 and play at Buffalo on Sunday. The Bengals are 3-1 and host the Panthers.
