NFL odds Week 7: Early betting lines and spreads to monitor

The Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers have both been friends to OVER bettors through the first six weeks of the NFL season, and those teams will both be in action as home favorites, per sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com, as we take a look at the opening odds for Week 7 of the season.

The Packers opened as 6.5-point home favorites against the Carolina Panthers for Sunday afternoon, with Aaron Rodgers and company sitting at 4-2 SU, 3-2-1 ATS, and 5-1 against the OVER/UNDER after slipping past the Miami Dolphins 27-24 as a 1.5-point road favorite over the weekend. That combined score managed to go OVER the 46.5-point posted total for the game, with the Packers' lone UNDER result coming back on Sept. 21 in a 19-7 road loss to the Detroit Lions.

The Colts opened as three-point home favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals for their matchup on Sunday afternoon, and Indianapolis is 4-2 SU, 5-1 ATS, and 5-1 on the OVER/UNDER after they knocked off Houston 33-28 as a 2.5-point road favorite last Thursday night. That game was an easy OVER result for totals bettors, and the Colts' lone UNDER result was a 20-13 home win over the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 5.

Indianapolis is also tied with Philadelphia and San Diego with the best ATS mark in the league this season at 5-1. Philadelphia is on a bye in Week 7, while the Chargers play host to the Kansas City Chiefs as 5.5-point favorites on the opening NFL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. San Diego had been rolling along with a perfect ATS record before failing to cover in their 31-28 win over the Oakland Raiders last week.

The New England Patriots opened as 7.5-point home favorites over the struggling New York Jets (1-5 SU and 0-5-1 ATS) in their Thursday Night Football matchup this week, while the Denver Broncos opened as six-point home favorites over the San Francisco 49ers for their game on Sunday night. The Broncos are 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS on the season, and they've been more profitable lately with back-to-back ATS victories over the Cardinals and the Jets. Denver managed to cover a 9.5-point road spread against New York last week on a last-second pick-six by Aqib Talib.

The Seattle Seahawks are just 3-2 both SU and ATS on the season after losing 30-23 as a 9.5-point favorite to Dallas last week; Seattle opened as a 6.5-point road favorite for their Week 7 matchup at St. Louis. In other notable opening NFL betting odds for Week 7, the Ravens were six-point favorites at home against the Falcons, and the Lions were 2.5-point favorites at home against the Saints.
