Thursday November 6th, 2014

Former NFL fullback Le'Ron McClain was arrested by police Wednesday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on drug trafficking charges.

McClain is being held on a $500,000 bond, Tuscaloosa police said, according to ABC 33/40.

Police said in a news release they had recovered 122 grams of synthetic marijuana as a result of an investigation involving McClain. Police told McClain earlier Wednesday that they would serve a warrant for his arrest once lab results confirmed the substance was synthetic marijuana.

When police went to McClain's home to serve the warrant late Wednesday afternoon, his mother told them McClain had left the state. He was later arrested in Tuscaloosa.

McClain played collegiately for the University of Alabama. He played seven seasons in the NFL and was a two-time All-Pro. McClain played four seasons with the Ravens, one with the Chiefs and two with the Chargers. He was released by San Diego in March.
