NFL Week 15 odds: Breaking down the opening betting lines

Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys are road underdogs on the opening NFL betting lines at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com as they look to make up for an earlier loss to the rival Philadelphia Eagles when those NFC East teams meet at Lincoln Financial Field for Sunday Night Football in Week 15.

The Eagles knocked off the Cowboys by a score of 33-10 as a three-point road underdog when the teams met for the first time this season on Thanksgiving, the third straight UNDER result between Philadelphia and Dallas dating back to last season. The Cowboys hold the slight edge at 3-2 both SU and ATS in the last five games between the two teams, and they opened as 3.5-point road underdogs for Sunday night. Dallas is 9-4 SU and 7-6 ATS on the season, with Philadelphia tied with them at 9-4 SU to go along with their 9-4 ATS record.

Another big division battle will take place at CenturyLink Field on Sunday afternoon as the Seattle Seahawks get a visit from the San Francisco 49ers. The Week 15 opening NFL odds have the Seahawks at -7.5 for the contest. Seattle is 9-4 SU and 7-6 ATS on the season, while San Francisco is falling out of playoff contention at 7-6 SU and 5-8 ATS.

Over in the AFC the Denver Broncos have opened as 3.5-point road favorites against the San Diego Chargers, with the Broncos at 10-3 SU and 6-7 ATS and two games ahead of the 8-5 SU (6-7 ATS) Chargers in the AFC West standings. The Broncos are 6-1 SU in their last seven games against the Chargers according to the OddsShark NFL Database, but San Diego has managed to cover the spread in three of their five most recent meetings.

Other division battles and their opening odds at the online sportsbooks for Week 15 include Arizona at St. Louis (-3) on Thursday night, Washington at the Giants (-6.5), Miami at New England (-7.5), Oakland at Kansas City (-9.5), Houston at Indianapolis (-7), Tampa Bay at Carolina (-5.5), Cincinnati at Cleveland (pick' em) and Minnesota at Detroit (-7).

In Monday Night Football, the New Orleans Saints take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field as a three-point road favorite on the opening betting lines for Week 15, with the Saints trying to stay in the NFC South division race at just 5-8 both SU and ATS on the season. Drew Brees and company fell 41-10 at home to the Carolina Panthers last week.
