Broncos put Danny Trevathan on injured reserve

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) The Denver Broncos have placed linebacker Danny Trevathan on injured reserve and waived tight end Dominique Jones.

Trevathan was Denver's leading tackler last year but appeared in just three games this season because of a trio of injuries to his left knee.

He was originally hurt in a training camp practice on Aug. 12 and reinjured the leg Oct. 12. After spending eight weeks on the club's recallable IR list, Trevathan dislocated his left kneecap Sunday against San Diego.

Jones played four snaps against the Chargers after being brought up from the club's practice squad because of injuries at his position.
