NFC East Free Agency Capsules

Capsules of NFC East teams heading into free agency. Available salary cap space is an estimate. The 2016 salary cap is $155.27 million per team.

DALLAS COWBOYS (4-12)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: DE Greg Hardy, LB Rolando McClain, CB Morris Claiborne, RB Lance Dunbar, DE Jeremy Mincey, DT Nick Hayden, DT Jack Crawford, QB Matt Cassel, LB Kyle Wilber, G Mackenzy Bernadeau, T Charles Brown, S Danny McCray, FB Tyler Clutts, RB Robert Turbin, TE James Hanna.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: G Ron Leary, S Jeff Heath.

NEEDS: Tony Romo's backup is biggest question after last-place finish when quarterback missed 12 games. Defensive line is high priority for second straight year with troubled Hardy unlikely to return, and linebacker will be close second if McClain doesn't re-sign. Dallas is looking for cornerbacks again after declining fifth-year option on top-10 draft bust Claiborne.

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $12 million.

NEW YORK GIANTS (6-10)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: CB Prince Amukamara, DE Robert Ayers Jr., DL Cullen Jenkins, PK Josh Brown, WR Rueben Randle, CB Trumaine McBride, DE George Selvie, CB Jayron Hosley, OL Brandon Mosley, G-C Dallas Reynolds, DT Markus Kuhn, TE Daniel Fells, S Craig Dahl, LB Jasper Brinkley, WR Marcus Harris, WR Hakeem Nicks, LS Danny Aiken, DT Barry Cofield, S Brandon Meriweather.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: P Brad Wing, TE Larry Donnell, RB Orleans Darkwa, TE Will Tye, WR Myles White, S Bennett Jackson, TE Jerome Cunningham, OL Adam Gettis.

NEEDS: Giants need help everywhere after missing playoffs in last four seasons, last two with 6-10 records. Offensive line is thin after releasing T Will Beatty and G Geoff Schwartz. While Giants have Odell Beckham Jr., they need second option at wide receiver. With Larry Donnell's future in doubt (neck injury), tight end might be on wish list. NFL's worst defense needs end, middle linebacker and safety. If Amukamara walks, Giants will need cornerback, too. But free agent DE Jason Pierre-Paul has agreed to come back. Now can he be effective after losing a finger in a fireworks accident last summer?

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $56 million.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (7-9)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: DE Cedric Thornton, S Walter Thurmond, CB Nolan Carroll, WR Seyi Ajirotutu, CB E.J. Biggers, QB Thad Lewis.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: C David Molk, OL Matt Tobin.

NEEDS: Eagles re-signed Sam Bradford at quarterback, agreed to trade RB DeMarco Murray to Titans, LB Kiko Alonso and CB Byron Maxwell to Miami. They also need to upgrade interior of offensive line and bolster secondary, where adding DB Leodis McKelvin just before free agency begins will help.

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $16 million.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS (9-8)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: QB Kirk Cousins (franchise tag), CB Will Blackmon, LB Mason Foster, LB Junior Galette, DT Kedric Golston, S Duke Ihenacho, DE Frank Kearse, NT Terrance Knighton, C Josh LeRibeus, RB Alfred Morris, TE Logan Paulsen, LB Keenan Robinson, TE Alex Smith, RB Pierre Thomas, CB Cary Williams, FB Darrel Young.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: OL Tom Compton, LB Will Compton, RB Chris Thompson, P Tress Way.

NEEDS: With Cousins signing franchise tender, Redskins can worry about other positions - and NFC East champions have plenty of places they need to improve via free agency and draft. With Morris expected to be let go, another running back is priority, and so is help along defensive and offensive lines, plus at inside linebacker and safety.

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $14 million.
