Rams select former Georgia RB Todd Gurley with No. 10 pick
Friday May 1st, 2015

The St. Louis Rams selected Georgia standout Todd Gurley with the No. 10 pick in Thursday's draft.

Gurley is the first running back to be selected in the first round since 2012.

Gurley suffered a torn ACL in a Nov. 15 game against Auburn, which followed a four-game suspension over an NCAA violation involving memorabilia. Over six games last season, he rushed for 911 yards and nine touchdowns on 123 carries. pegged Gurley 16th in its list of the top 64 prospects in this draft class. Writer Doug Farrar wrote that "The team that drafts [Gurley] will have to go on faith that the advancements in knee surgeries over the years give players like Gurley more and better opportunities to recover and succeed in the long term. If not, it would be a shame—because this is a rare, special player with unreal potential for NFL success."
