Packers add Stanford receiver-returner Ty Montgomery

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) The Packers have added another potential target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers after taking Stanford receiver Ty Montgomery in the third round with the 94th overall selection.

Montgomery led the Cardinal last season with 61 catches for 604 yards. He also has five career special teams returns for touchdowns.

The senior missed two games last season with a shoulder injury.

Montgomery will join a crowd of receivers in Green Bay led by Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. The Packers also drafted three receivers last season, including second-rounder Davante Adams.

Inside linebacker remains a need on defense, but the Packers will have to wait until Day 3 of the draft if they're going to fortify that position.
