Raiders take TE Clive Walford in 3rd round

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) The Oakland Raiders have selected Miami tight end Clive Walford with their third-round pick in the NFL draft.

The Raiders chose Walford with the 68th overall selection Friday.

Walford is a versatile player who is adept at blocking and receiving. He had 121 catches for 1,753 yards and 14 touchdowns in 49 games at Miami.

He joins a position group that includes 2013 draft pick Mychal Rivera and free agent signee Lee Smith.

Oakland picked Florida State defensive lineman Mario Edwards Jr. in the second round earlier on Friday. The Raiders took Alabama receiver Amari Cooper in the first round.
