Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb was arrested for driving under the influence in Arizona last month, police confirmed to Deadspin

McNabb was arrested in Gilbert, Ariz., shortly before midnight on June 28 after he “collided in a rear-end fashion with another vehicle which was stopped at a red traffic signal,” Gilbert police said in a statement. He was determined to be “impaired by alcohol,” was processed at a holding facility and released.

McNabb, 38, was also arrested for DUI in December 2014 after he was pulled over for speeding east of Phoenix. He served one day in jail in April 2014. In Arizona, a second DUI conviction carries a minimum sentence of 90 days in jail.

McNabb currently works as an analyst with Fox and NBC Sports Radio. He addressed the arrest at the start of his NBC radio show on Tuesday.

“There was a story that was released, and I want everybody to be cognizant of it, because I am very aware of it, handling the matter at this particular point,” McNabb said, according to Pro Football Talk. “But at this point, I have no further information, and as we continue on with the situation, then we’ll let it handle as it will handle itself.”

McNabb played 13 years in the NFL, including 11 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent his final two years in the league with the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings
