The New England Patriots open training camp on July 30. The Patriots will also travel to New Orleans for joint practices with the Saints before the two square off in a preseason game on Aug. 22. New England's full training camp schedule has not yet been released.

The defending Super Bowl champion Patriots had a tumultuous offseason both on and off the field. New England will be without quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games of the season as a result of the Deflategate scandal. Brady's suspension was upheld after appeal.

Brady has said he will challenge any ruling that suspends him for any number of games in federal court.

New England is also dealing with a mass exodus of talent from its Super Bowl team, mainly on the defensive side of the ball. The Patriots lost both  oftheir starting cornerbacks, Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, to free agency. Kyle Arrington and Alfonzo Dennard also will no longer be part of the New England secondary. In the middle of the defense, nose tackle Vince Wilfork and middle linebacker Akeem Ayers left for other teams as well.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Patriots will have to find answers at running back, where Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen will no longer be present.
