Raiders RT Menelik Watson ruptures Achilles
Monday August 31st, 2015

Oakland Raiders starting right tackle Menelik Watson has a torn Achilles tendon and will miss the entire season, he wrote on Twitter Sunday

Watson, 26, was a second-round pick in 2013 and started 12 games over the past two seasons. He was injured during the first quarter of Sunday night’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals

Austin Howard, who started all 16 games for the Raiders at right guard last season, is listed as Watson’s backup. Veteran Khalif Barnes is listed as the second-string option at left tackle.
