NFL odds: Colts favored over Jets on Monday Night Football

The Colts opened as a 5.5-point favorite, but the line quickly moved to a touchdown at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.

Week 2 of the 2015 NFL season comes to a close in Indianapolis, where the Colts host the Jets on Monday Night Football. The Colts opened as a 5.5-point favorite, but the line quickly moved to a touchdown at sports books monitored by OddsShark.

The money line has the Colts at -330 and the Jets at +270. The first half line is set at the Colts -4.

The Colts are 1–4 ATS in their last five games against the Jets and 13–6 ATS when facing the Jets at home. The Colts have covered the spread in 10 of their last 13 games. The Colts are 6-2-1 in games in which they are a touchdown favorite dating back to 2013.

Week 2 Snaps: Romo injury, stagnant Eagles throw NFC East into chaos

The Jets are 5–1 ATS in their last six games but 4-12 SU in their last 16 games, according to the OddsShark Database. They are 7-3-2 in games in which they are touchdown underdogs dating back to 2013.

The total opened at 46.5 points and has stayed between that and 47 points across the sports books. The Colts have hit the under in eight straight games and in five of their last seven home games, while the Jets have gone under in six of their last nine games, but the total has gone over in five of the last six games between these two teams.

The OddsShark Computer predicts a Colts win and cover by a final score of 27.8-20.3. That would just slide past the point total for the over payout.

The biggest question for the Jets is the status of Chris Ivory. The running back was listed as questionable this week with a groin injury. He was limited in practice but says he is good to go for Monday.

The farce of tackling: Why is such a fundamental stat so elusive?

Cornerback Antonio Cromartie is also listed as questionable, with a knee injury. He sat out Thursday’s practice and was limited on Friday and Saturday. Rookie wide receiver Devin Smith is probable, but was inactive last week after being listed as probable.

The big question for the Colts is the status of wide receiver T.Y. Hilton. He sat out Thursday and Friday practices, and returned in a limited role on Saturday. The team is optimistic, but he is looking like a game-time decision.

Indianapolis pass rusher Robert Mathis is also listed as questionable after three straight days of limited practice.
