Watch: Edward Jones Dome turf catches fire during St. Louis Rams player introductions
Sunday September 27th, 2015

The St. Louis Rams game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was delayed after pyrotechnics set fire to the turf, according to multiple reports.

The game kicked off shortly before 1:30 p.m., nearly a 30-minute delay. The game was delayed as the grounds crew tried to clean up the burnt astroturf

Eight minutes after the game’s scheduled start time, the Rams finished clearing up the “charred turf,” but the game remained delayed, according to NBC Sports’s Patrick Daugherty. The teams were eventually sent back to the locker room
