NFL Odds Week 7: Unbeaten Panthers favored over Eagles on Sunday night

The unbeaten Panthers are favorites over Chip Kelly's Eagles when the two square off on Sunday Night Football.

The NFL wraps up Week 7 Sunday action with a matchup of NFC divisional leaders as the 5-0 Carolina Panthers play host to the 3-3 Philadelphia Eagles. The Panthers are a field-goal betting favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Panthers enter the game having won their last nine games straight up and they sit at 4-1 against the spread to start the season. The Panthers are also 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 October games according to the OddsShark NFL Database. Over the last five years, Carolina is 7-6 straight up and against the spread when it has been a home favorite by a field goal or less.

The Panthers are 1-4 against the spread in the last five matchups between these two teams.

The only notable injury on the Panthers' report is rookie outside linebacker Shaq Thompson. He suffered a knee injury against the Seattle Seahawks and is not expected to play on Sunday. A.J. Klein will replace him in the lineup.

The Eagles enter the game 3-3 against the spread after a Week 6 win over the Giants last Monday night. After a slow start, the Eagles have covered in three of their last four games. They have a bye in Week 8, and are 5-2 straight up and against the spread in the week preceding their last seven byes.

The Eagles will once again be without wide receiver Nelson Agholor due to an ankle injury. However, quarterback Sam Bradford could also be without Riley Cooper. The receiver suffered a knee contusion in Week 6, but finished out the game; his inability to practice does not bode well for his Week 7 status. Additionally, inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans has not practiced this week after leaving Week 6 at halftime with a hamstring injury.

The total opened at 47 points, but has come down to as low as 46 points at some sportsbooks. The UNDER could prove to be a solid wager in this game. The total has gone UNDER in five of the Eagles' last six games and in four of their last six road games, as well as six of the Panthers' last eight home games.

The OddsShark Computer predicts a 25.8-18.2 Panthers victory. That would provide for the Panthers cover, and the UNDER.
