Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will reportedly return from injury to start Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Pittsburgh is preparing to have Roethlisberger back in the lineup for the key matchup against its undefeated divisional rival.
Roethlisberger has missed four weeks after spraining his left MCL and also sustaining a bone bruise against the Rams in Week 3. He was a game-time decision last week against the Chiefs. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday that he expected to have Roethlisberger back against Cincinnati.
“We don't have any reservations or limitations about his ability,” Tomlin said. “As I sit here today, we’re comfortable where he is in his overall ability. We’re going to need him, obviously.” Pittsburgh will monitor Roethlisberger’s status in practice during the week, but Tomlin added that he wouldn’t assume the quarterback’s mobility to be limited.
The 4–3 Steelers and 6–0 Bengals play at 1 p.m. ET Sunday in Pittsburgh.
