NFL Odds: These three teams are the best bets heading into Week 9

The undefeated Panthers are underdogs against the Packers this week, and that makes them one of the top three most attractive bets heading into Week 9 of the NFL season.

Week 9 of the NFL season is on deck and with it comes three attractive wagering opportunities to help pad your bankroll. 

Carolina plays host to Green Bay in a battle of NFC powerhouses, and it’s the home squad that’s getting no respect whatsoever, being listed as 2.5-point underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Packers are 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games in November, and while the betting public is looking for a rebound after Green Bay’s abysmal performance in Denver, we see a lot of similarities to the Broncos in a Panthers squad that could shut down the Packers again.

Carolina has the pass rush and secondary to disrupt Green Bay’s passing game, and they should be able to run the ball with ease against a soft Packers front seven. Grab the points with the home dog in a game where they have no business catching points.

Keeping it in the NFC, we find another lucrative spot with a home dog on Sunday Night Football, as the Cowboys play host to the Eagles. Dallas has struggled immensely on offense without Tony Romo, but its defense is an underrated unit who should be able to limit an overrated Eagles offense.

Dallas already won with ease in Philadelphia earlier this season, and they’ve owned this rivalry as of late, going 5-2 straight up in their last seven meetings with Philadelphia. The Cowboys are also 11-3 straight up and against the spread in their last 14 games after consecutive losses.

This is another scenario where we don’t believe that the home team should be catching points, so we’ll gladly scoop up Dallas at +2.5.

Finally, in another primetime matchup, we look to a third underdog this week. A quick look at the Chargers’ injury report shows that this San Diego squad is walking wounded. The Chargers have numerous injuries on their offensive line and they’ve lost their top wideout, Keenan Allen, for the season due to a liver injury.

The Bears are certainly not a good squad, but they’re closer to average than they are to being bad, especially since the return of Jay Cutler from injury. Even with Matt Forte expected to miss this contest, Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett can find room in a Chargers’ secondary that’s also banged up.

San Diego is spotting too many points, so we’ll look to grab Chicago +4 on Monday Night Football.
