NFL Odds Week 9: Eagles favored in divisional SNF matchup vs. Cowboys

The Eagles are road favorites this week as they travel to Dallas to take on the 2-5 Cowboys in a key NFC East matchup.

The NFL wraps up Week 9 Sunday action with an important NFC East matchup as the Dallas Cowboys, in desperate need of a win, host the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles opened as a 2.5-point favorite, and the line has mostly stuck there at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.

The moneyline has the Eagles between -142 and -150, and the Cowboys right in between +122 and +125.

This rivalry series has been all about the road team when it comes to the spread. The road team is 7-1 against the spread in the last eight games between these two.

This marks the fourth time the Eagles have been favored in Dallas dating back to 2010 according to the OddsShark NFL Database. Philadelphia is 1-2 against the spread but 3-0 straight up in those games.

The Eagles enter the game 3-4 straight up and against the spread this season, losing and failing to cover last week against the Carolina Panthers. The Eagles are 2-4 straight up and against the spread in their last six road games.

They enter the game with left tackle Jason Peters missing practice time this week. Linebacker Demeco Ryans has also missed practice this week due to a hamstring injury that sidelined him in Week 7, prior to their bye. Running back Ryan Mathews has been limited this week, leaving his status up in the air.

The Cowboys enter the game 2-5 straight up and against the spread this season, and are 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games.

The Cowboys have lost five straight overall since losing Tony Romo to injury, and have failed to cover the spread in four of those losses. Matt Cassel will again get the start. He will likely have wide receiver Dez Bryant for a second straight week. Bryant was limited in practice this week, but is expected to play.

The point total opened at 45.5, but has settled at 44.5. The total has gone UNDER in four of the last five games between these two, and three of the last five between them in Dallas.

The total has gone UNDER in four of the Eagles' last five road games, and five of the Cowboys' last seven home games.

The OddsShark Computer predicts a Cowboys victory by a final score of 24-19.8. That would provide for a Cowboys cover and the UNDER.
